Jako všechny Goldingovy romány i Ztroskotání Christophera Martina nabízí více otázek než odpovědí. Zde navíc originální "Goldingův trik" v závěru knihy narušuje již tak nejednoznačné vyznění příběhu a nutí nás opakovaně se zamýšlet nad Martinovým osudem a zároveň podrobit důkladnému zkoumání i náš vlastní život. Jen a jen na nás záleží, k jakým závěrům dospějeme.
