Jan Novák (1953) je přední český spisovatel, překladatel a dokumentarista. V roce 1969 emigroval s rodiči přes Rakousko do USA, žil v Chicagu, nyní je doma opět v Čechách. Jeho román Zatím dobrý (2004, Paseka, Argo 2011) byl v rámci ceny Magnesia Litera vyhlášen Knihou roku 2005. John Bok (1945) se narodil do česko-britské rodiny (jeho otec byl válečným letcem, matka Angličanka). Podepsal Chartu 77, byl perzekuován policií, po roce 1989 pracoval v Úřadu pro ochranu ústavy a demokracie a ve FBIS. Je zakladatelem Spolku Šalamoun, který se angažuje v kontroverzních soudních kauzách, a několikrát byl nominován na funkci veřejného ochránce práv.
