Grafik Michal Cihlář (1960) je považován za průkopnickou osobnost českého moderního linorytu. Touto grafickou technikou se shodou šťastných náhod začal zabývat roku 1980 a brzy si uvědomil, že linoryt je navzdory své primitivní technologii skutečným rájem neomezených tvůrčích možností. Koncem 80. let už měl Cihlář brilantně vypracované vlastní postupy pro mnohobarevné soutisky z postupně odrývané linorytové matrice. Některé grafické listy jsou více než dvaceti barevné, na výstavě však najdete i soutisk ze 42 barev. Grafiky dodnes tiskne výhradně ručně, bez tiskařského stroje, většinou jen v nákladu kolem sedmi exemplářů. V polovině 90. let začíná od barevných soutisků přecházet k linorytům kolorovaným a své černobílé linoryty pečlivě vybarvuje běžně dostupnými anilinkami. To mu umožnilo dostat se přes své rané pop-artové období až na hranici fotorealismu. Typické je pro něj i časté střídání témat, které si podle svých potřeb často vynucuje jeho široký záběr v oblasti užité grafiky. Zejména knižní a novinové ilustrace jsou svým náměty i provedením nezaměnitelné. Na přelomu tisíciletí svými linoryty vytvořil také originální image pražské zoo. Za svůj přínos na poli volné a užité grafiky obdržel přesně před dvaceti lety prestižní Cenu Vladimíra Boudníka.
