Druhá kniha básnířky Andrey Vatulíkové (1984) přichází jedenáct let po výrazném debutu Ona je ten tragický typ... Neobsahuje tak pouze úzký výběr textů, jakýsi creme de la creme, ale bohatý a velkorysý výbor z tvorby za více než deset let. Je to široký, rozvodněný proud, který s sebou nekompromisně bere vše, co mu přijde do cesty. Jsou to především lásky, jedna za druhou, mnohdy se bohémsky překrývají, ztrácejí se a zase šťastně (nebo ne tak šťastně) vynořují, avšak kromě žen, včetně té "osudové", jsou tu i muži - zejména básník František Listopad (1921-2017), s nímž Andreu Vatulíkovou pojilo hluboké a inspirativní přátelství. Soubor I když se umíš smát jak dalajláma je plný poezie - nádherně neučesané, někdy dojemné, jindy neurvalé, brutálně upřímné, syrové až k cyničnosti, hladící proti srsti. Je tu ale i stesk, dobře skrývaný žal a osamělost, mnoho touhy - nejen té fyzické - a ano, i ta vysmívaná romantika. Básnířka dává plnými hrstmi, a ty, čtenáři, vyzobávej jednohubky - nebo se nech tím proudem strhnout. Jestli má současná česká poezie nějakou plnokrevnou beatnici, pak je to Andrea Vatulíková.
