Jak podotýká Eliade, tento sen se uskutečnil teprve nedávno - za cenu toho, že příroda i práce ztratily svůj posvátný charakter a člověk se ocitl v "odcizeném světě". Odvěký sen se tak stal pastí, z níž bude těžké najít východisko.
