Od roku 2004 žije v Kolíně nad Rýnem, kde se kromě žurnalistiky věnuje také psaní scénářů pro televizi a vlastní literární tvorbě. Detektivní série s kriminálním komisařem Gereonem Rathem, která je zasazena do Berlína 20.–30. let (období tzv. Výmarské republiky), se stala světovým bestellerem a vznikl podle ní neméně úspěšný televizní seriál Babylon Berlin v režii Toma Tykwera (Lola běží o život, Parfém: Příběh vraha). Jan Teplý (1976) Po studiu na pražské konzervatoři získal první angažmá v Klicperově divadle v Hradci Králové. Odtud v roce 1998 odešel do Divadla pod Palmovkou, kde působí dodnes. Kromě toho hostoval v Divadle na Vinohradech a ve Švandově divadle, objevil se i na menších pražských scénách a v představeních v rámci Letních shakespearovských slavností. Hrál v několika filmech (např. Kožené slunce, Hezké chvilky bez záruky, Andělé všedního dne), známý je z televizních seriálů Zdivočelá země či Temný Kraj a účinkoval i v dalších (např. Kriminálka Anděl, Ulice, České století, Atentát). Spolupracuje též s rozhlasem a věnuje se dabingu (pro HBO také nadaboval postavu kriminálního komisaře Gereona Ratha v seriálu Babylon Berlin).
