Autor v debute Smrť nemá argumenty, v snahe nadviazať na nietzscheánsku tradíciu, raz esejisticky, inokedy literárne, rekapituluje svoje zistenia, postrehy súčasníka pod náporom spoločenského chaosu. Čitateľ, a to by ani nebolo žiaduce, nemusí so všetkým súhlasiť, ale môže si osvojiť úvahy, ktoré ho, neraz orientované na umenie alebo jeho interpretáciu, presvedčia na základe skúseností. To, čo sa javí ako najviac tragikomické, je opovrhovanie umenia "konzumnou" spoločnosťou, ktorá si ho zvyčajne mýli s prevládajúcou, masovou kultúrou. Naznačuje to i samotný autor: "Filozofia a poézia sú nepodstatné, ponižované a zavrhnuté. Majú postavenie špinavého a otrhaného žobráka, ktorý si svoj svet ponecháva v tajnosti. Zdá sa, že človek ich k svojmu životu nepotrebuje."
